2026 Bughouse Championship @ Seaside (Individual Registration)
The Bughouse Championship is Friday at 7:00pm!
In the annual Oregon Bughouse championship, hundreds of students pair up to play a popular variant of doubles chess called Bughouse. The tournament uses a quad format, with four teams competing in a double round-robin quad against teams of similar skill (based on combined rating.)
Basic rules: Teammates sit side-by-side playing alternate colors. Whenever a player takes a piece, they hand it over to their teammate, who can choose when to put it on their board instead of moving a piece. Pieces and pawns can only be placed on empty squares. Pawns can only be placed on rows 2-7.
The time control for each game is 5+0. Clock move. Talking to teammates is encouraged. Good sportsmanship mandatory.

This item is for registering 1 player at a time. Players will have an option of specifying a teammate or being placed with a teammate of similar rating/age. Adding to cart will cost $10.
