Registration Deadline: Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 11:59pm or when sold out.

Cost: $30/participant ($150/team)

  1. Please read these registration instructions: Add only one player to cart at a time (i.e. do not change “quantity” to more than one). After you add one player and enter all their information, you can add the next player.

Capacity: 300/players 75 teams

DESCRIPTION:

We will crown state champions for the best teams in K-5, K-8, K-12, and Mixed. We will also have generous prizes for the best teams in various "reserve" categories, giving every team a chance to compete for awards. Bring your entire club and sort them into teams of five to compete for all the honors! Schools and clubs can bring more than one team.

SCHEDULE

  • Check-in: 9:30am-10:00am (Teams not at their boards by 10:10am may forfeit Round 1)

  • Round 1: 10:15am (G/25;+5)

  • Round 2: 11:30am (G/25;+5)

  • Round 3: 1:00pm (G/25;+5)

  • Round 4: 2:15pm (G/25;+5)

  • Round 5: 3:30pm (G/25;+5)

  • Awards: 4:45pm

ELIGIBILITY, RULES, AND FORMAT:

RATINGS: USCF rated (USCF memberships required for all participants and will be given free to new and renewing players); Clocks and notation required in all sections. No one is expected to notate perfectly, but everyone should make an effort!

EQUIPMENT: Chess sets, clocks, notation sheets, and pencils all provided.

FOOD & DRINK:

Food and beverage will be available for purchase at the hotel.

DIVISIONS AND AWARDS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON REGISTRATIONS):

  1. K-5 OPEN: Top three teams receive a team award and medals for each player. 

  2. K-5 RESERVE (RATING CUTOFF PENDING REGISTRATION) Top three teams receive a team award and medals for each player.

  3. K-8 OPEN: Top three teams receive a team award and medals for each player. 

  4. K-8 RESERVE (RATING CUTOFF PENDING REGISTRATION): Top three teams receive a team award and medals for each player.

  5. K-12 DIVISION: Top two teams receive a team award and medals for each player.

  6. MIXED DIVISION: Top three teams receive a team award and medals for each player.

  7. MIXED RESERVE (RATING CUTOFF PENDING REGISTRATION): Top three teams receive a team award and medals for each player.

  2. COACHES: If you are bringing multiple teams, or your are including an alternate on your team, or you have unrated players, please send your team lineup to us in advance. oscf@oregonscholasticchessfederation.org

  3. PARENTS: If you are registering your student individually. Check with your coach to see if there are multiple teams, and if your student is going on Team A, B, or C. Fill out team name accordingly (ex: “Memorial Middle School B”)
