When: Saturday Dec 6, 2025 Check in 9:15AM-9:45 AM
First Round starts at 10AM. Players who do not arrive by 9:45AM may forfeit their first round.

Deadline: All registrations must be received by Friday, Dec 5 at 5PM.

Entry Fee: $15 Cash on site. Electronic payment may be available upon request.
USCF membership required for new players:

  • K-12 scholastic players:

    • USCF membership will be included in the $15 entry fee (no action required)

      1. If your child wants to play but the cost is a financial barrier for your family, please contact us for possible financial aid.

  • Adults: 

    • If you do not currently have a USCF membership, please purchase one before the tournament https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess

      1. You may submit your registration without a membership for now and email us your USCF ID before the tournament. 

Format:

5 Round Swiss System
Time control: G/25;+5 (Each player receives a starting time of 25 minutes with an additional 5 seconds added to their clock after each move they make)

Schedule: This is an estimate only, exact starting times may vary slightly

Player Meeting: 9:45AM
Round 1: 10:00AM 
Round 2: 11:15AM
Lunch
Round 3: 12:45PM
Round 4: 2:00PM
Round 5: 3:15PM

Sections:

Exact sections to be determined closer to the tournament date. Players will be grouped in sections according to their playing strength. If a sufficient number of younger scholastic players register, there may be a K-5 only section.
Example only: Open, U1100, K-5

Byes:

If you would like to request a half-point bye during any of the rounds, please indicate that in the questions/comments section in the registration form.

Equipment:

Chess sets, clocks, notation sheets and pencils are all provided.
Players are encouraged to bring their own chess sets for post game analysis and casual games in between rounds in the Skittles area

Expectations:

  • Good Sportsmanship: Be kind and respectful towards your opponents before, during and after your games

  • All players are expected to notate their moves to the best of their ability unless they have less than 5min on their clock.

  • No food allowed at the board (only water bottles)

  • Parents are expected to supervise their own kids or designate another adult to do so.

Food:

$5 pizza lunch will be sold onsite (includes 2 slices of pizza and water/soft drink).
Additional snacks/drinks will be sold at the concessions stand.
Bring cash. You are also welcome to bring your own food/drinks.

Cash prizes, Chess books, Medals, 3D printed chess set
