Albany Winter Open / K12 Team Tournament
Come join us on Saturday, November 15th at Memorial Middle School in Albany, Oregon for a K-12 team tournament, with a USCF open section for adult players!
Location: Memorial Middle School. 1050 SW Queen Ave., Albany, OR 97321
Cost: Cash only on site. $15/player. $10/player for individuals on teams of 2 or more players.

Rules
All sections: 5-rounds with 25 minutes/5 second bonus per side.
Adult Open: Individual-based, with cash prizes $50, $30, and $20 top unrated player.
K12 Team: Team score = sum of top 4 players on team. Students will automatically be placed on teams according to school. Homeschool players have option to form separate team, or join the team of their home district. Teams can have minimum of 1 player. Larger teams may be split into A/B/C teams according to rating, if necessary for functional pairings in a section.
K12 sections: K-5, K-8, High School.
K12 Awards: Trophies for top 3 elementary teams, top 2 middle school, and top HS team. Medals for top 10 individuals in K-5, K-8, plus top K-3 individuals. Medals for top 5 High School.
Food: $5 pizza lunch, mandarins, cookie, and chips available for purchase on site. There is also a DairyMart across the street, and several lunch options within easy walking distance of the school.

Registration: 9-9:40 AM
Players Meeting: 9:50 AM
Round 1: 10:00-10:55 AM
Round 2: 11:00- 11:55
Lunch: noon-12:45
Round 3: 12:45-1:40
Round 4: 1:45-2:40
Round 5: 2:45-3:40
Awards: 3:45pm

This tournament is sponsored by the Oregon Scholastic Chess Federation, and serves as a qualifier for the Oregon K12 State Championship in Seaside. Proceeds go to support the Alt Ed Program at Memorial HS.
